Our Constitution
The main objective of our division (the "Sussex JLD") is to promote the benefit of its members.

We aim to work for and represent the interest of our members, including law students, paralegals, legal assistant, solicitor apprentices, traineesqualified solicitors (up to five years PQE), trainee and qualified legal executives (up to five years PQE), pupil barristers, and barristers (within five years of completing pupillage) residing or employed in Sussex or the surrounding area. We also actively emphasise and encourage inclusion and diversity within the legal industry and among our peers.

We want to create a community with junior legal professionals with whom we can grow and develop our careers together, encourage and celebrate each other's success. We also want to foster a safe environment for the next generation of students to ask questions, gain networking experience and insight into the legal industry.

To achieve our goal, the Sussex JLD are committed to

-
Organising events for members;
-
Representing members' interests on the National JLD Committee;
-
Supporting relevant charitable trusts, associations, or institutions; and
-
Raising funds for the maintenance of our infrastructure and ensuring contingency.

We also welcome all feedback in relation to our constitution, our event planning and any related issues. Do feel free to email us at sussexjld@gmail.com.
