SJLD Mentoring
Scheme 2025

Would you like to have someone in the industry guide you through your career options and ambitions?
Apply today for the Sussex Junior Lawyers' Division Mentoring Programme.
1
What is a mentoring?
Successful applicants will be individually paired with a lawyer who will provide one-to-one guidance on routes into the profession. They will also be able to give you unique insight into life as a lawyer in Sussex.
2
What can I expect?
As part of the programme, mentors will provide career advice, share their own experiences of qualifying for law from university, discuss the day-to-day roles and responsibilities they have as lawyers, review your CV, provide tips on applications, and offer any other insight and guidance to get the most from the programme.
3
What is the application process?
Applications will be assessed by the Sussex Junior Lawyers' Division for selection. We will get in touch again as and when the application window is closed.
If successful, you will attend at least 3 meetings with your mentor. The scheme will run for 6 months.
4
Who can apply?
This opportunity is open to all prospective and junior lawyers, who would like to pursue a career in law, including but not limited to students from A-levels or university levels.
